Obstructive apnea
Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome "OSA" is a chronic disorder of sleep characterized by frequent interruptions of breathing (apnea with duration more than 10 seconds), or sensitive slowdowns in breathing (hypopnea with reduction of over 50% of nosobuccal flows for over 10s). The consequences are hypoxemia, hypercapnia and micro wake-up. Obstructive sleep apnea is the result of an obstruction of the upper airway. The OSA represents 90% of cases of sleep disorders with apnea.
